The NWHL consists of 10 teams across Canada featuring some of the world's elite hockey players, including Olympic medallists and World Champions. The Griffins are a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade.

The club's inaugural roster is made up of top female hockey players from across British Columbia, along with one player from each of Alberta, Quebec, the USA, and Norway. The team is led by Olympic silver medallist, five-time World and seven-time National Champion Nancy Drolet.

The fan is the heart of the Vancouver Griffins' vision. The Griffins are committed to delivering high quality sports entertainment at an affordable price to all hockey fans in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest.

Supporting the Game

The Griffins are also committed to supporting the development of female hockey at the grass roots level and to providing the opportunity for female hockey players to play at an elite level and develop to their full potential.

2000-2001 - Our Inaugural Season

This season is an exhibition year for the Griffins and has featured games against the NWHL's Brampton Thunder, CIAU teams, and charity games against the Abbotsford Police Department and Canucks Alumni.

The team competed this season in the Senior AAA division of the South Coast Female Amateur Hockey League (SCFAHL), and hosted the BC Provincial Championships at Queens Park Arena, February 10 and 11, 2001. The Griffins become Female Senior AAA Provincial Champions on February 11, and will represent BC at the Esso Women's National Championships in Summerside, PEI, March 7-11, 2001.

The 2001-2002 season is the launch year for the Griffins, with a full slate of interlocking NWHL league play scheduled.
